Due to the absence of research articles specifically studying the prevalence of PAD in ACS patients in Indonesia, this study becomes the first one to determine the prevalence of peripheral artery disease in patients with acute coronary syndrome at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung. Methods: A descriptive analytics study was conducted and patients with acute coronary syndrome were identified from registry registered between January 2021 and February 2023 to the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine Hasan Sadikin General Hospital. A total sampling method was employed. The variables included were patient profile, clinical characteristics, prevalence of peripheral artery disease, and risk factors. Results: The prevalence of peripheral artery disease in patients with acute coronary syndrome was 27.9%. The most prevalent risk factors were hypertension and smoking. From a total of 31 subjects, the ratio of males to females with PAD was 8:1. The highest incidence of ACS patients with PAD occured in the age group of <60 years (54.8%), but it was not significantly different from the age group of ≥60 years (45.2%). Conclusion: PAD was common in ACS patients. Hypertension and smoking were the main risk factors. More research is needed on the implications of PAD in ACS.
