The SARS-CoV-2 infection becomes detrimental when it occurs in someone who has comorbidities. Several comorbidities in COVID-19 are also closely related to periodontitis. The author created this article to advance the existing research on the relationship between periodontitis and comorbidities and the severity of COVID-19 infection. Material and Methods: PRISMA-Scr is used as a guideline. Searches are performed with keywords ("periodontitis" AND "COVID-19") AND ("Comorbidity" or "systemic disease") in the PubMed/MEDLINE, DOAJ, and Science Direct databases and manually using Google Scholar. Selected articles to be discussed and analyzed in detail. Results: Twelve articles that met the criteria were selected and analyzed. Specifically reviewed based on; the relationship between periodontitis and COVID-19, the relationship between COVID-19 and comorbid disease, and the relationship between comorbid disease and periodontitis. Conclusions: The papers collected in this study support a correlation between periodontitis and the severity of COVID-19 compared with systemic disease, although so far, there are no experimental studies specifically designed to confirm this association.Comorbid DiseaseCOVID-19PeriodontitisRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERIODONTITIS WITH COMMORBID DISEASE TO THE SEVERITY OF COVID-19 INFECTION: A SCOPING REVIEW
