Objek penelitian ini adalahreferensi apa saja yang terdapat pada novel dan apa padanan referensi yang terdapatpada novel. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan referensi apasaja yang terdapat pada novel dan mendeskripsikan mengenai padanan referensi padanovel tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan berdasarkan teori yang dikemukakan oleh Halliday dan Hasan dalam buku Cohesion in English. Metode yang digunakan dalampenelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dan komparatif milik Djajasudarma. Simpulanyang dapat diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat tiga jenis referensi yangmuncul dalam novel Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets yaitu referensipersona, referensi demonstratif, dan referensi komparatif, (2) padanan referensi padanovel Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets dan terjemahan menunjukkan bahwaada referensi-referensi yang diterjemahkan menjadi implisit maupun eksplisit pada bahasa sasaran. This thesis is entitled Referensi pada Novel Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Karya J.K Rowling dan Terjemahannya. This research object is whatever references contained in the novel and whatever references comparison in the novel. The purpose of this study is to describe whatever references contained in the novel and describes about references comparison in the novel. The research will be performed in accordance with the theories put forward by Halliday and Hasan in their book Cohesion in English. The method used in this study are descriptive and comparative methods from to Djajasudarma. Conclusions that can be drawn in this study are (1) there are three types of references that appear in the novel Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets which are persona reference, demonstrative reference and comparative reference, (2) comparison references in the novel Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and its translation indicates that there are references that translated implicitly or explicitly into the target language.Tidak ada keywordTidak ada keyword
