Abstract
This research was conducted in order to design an optimal scheduling system for employees of emergency room unit in Aulia mother and child hospital in Jakarta, Indonesia. This study focuses on two aspects which are: (1) to determine the current scheduling system applied in the hospital emergency room unit, (2) to create a new optimum scheduling system using two different labor scheduling methods.
The research was directed using two different labor scheduling methods which are Tiberwala, Philipe, and Browne method, and Monroe method applied on the data from December 2015 of emergency room unit in Aulia maternity hospital suggesting different allocation of labors in alternative scheduling simulations.
The result of the research showed that the current shifting system in the emergency room is fluctuate and does not follow any specific systematic pattern making it ineffective system and needs to be modified to allocate the exact needed number of labors and shifting system for better arrangement of its labor.
