dc.description.abstractABSTRAK Kista dentigerous merupakan kista odontogenik perkembangan yang mengelilingi mahkota gigi yang tidak erupsi, terjadi akibat akumulasi cairan antara epitel email tereduksi, paling sering terjadi pada molar tiga mandibula. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui berapa besar prevalensi kista dentigerous pada pasien akibat impaksi gigi molar tiga bawah yang berkunjung ke bagian Bedah Mulut dan Maksilofasial RSUP Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei deskriptif. Sampel penelitian diambil dari data rekam medis pasien selama periode Juli 2006 – Juni 2011. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 316 (0,78%) kasus kista oromaksilofasial pada periode tersebut. Kista dentigerous merupakan jenis kista odontogenik terbanyak yang ditemukan yaitu sebesar 48,64%. Kista dentigerous paling banyak disebabkan oleh impaksi gigi molar tiga bawah yaitu sebesar 13,89%. Penderita kista dentigerous akibat impaksi gigi molar tiga bawah pada laki-laki sama jumlahnya dengan perempuan yaitu masing-masing sebesar 50%. Kelompok umur yang paling banyak menderita kista dentigerous akibat impaksi gigi molar tiga bawah adalah kelompok umur 41-50 tahun yaitu sebesar 40%. Terapi yang paling sering dilakukan adalah enukleasi sebanyak 100%. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kista dentigerous paling banyak disebabkan impaksi gigi molar tiga bawah, dengan frekuensi pada laki-laki sama dengan perempuan, paling banyak diderita oleh kelompok umur 41-50 tahun, dan terapi yang paling banyak dilakukan adalah enukleasi. Kata kunci: kista dentigerous, impaksi, molar tiga bawah ABSTRACT Dentigerous cyst is an odontogenic cyst that surrounds the crown of an impacted tooth, caused by fluid accumulation between the reduced enamel epithelium and the enamel surface, usually associated with mandibular third molars. The purpose of this study was to find out the prevalence of dentigerous cyst caused by impaction of mandibular third molar at the oral and maxillofacial surgery department of Dr. Hasan Sadikin hospital Bandung. This was a descriptive survey study. Samples were taken from the data of patient’s medical record from July 2006 until June 2011. The result of this study showed the number of oromaxillofacial cyst cases in that period was 316 (0,78%). Dentigerous cyst was the most common odontogenic cyst (48,64%). Dentigerous cyst most commonly caused by impaction of mandibular third molar (13,89%). The amount of male and female patients with dentigerous cyst was the same (50% each). Age group that suffered dentigerous cyst due to impaction of mandibular third molars the most was ages of 41-50 years (40%). The most choosen therapy was enucleation (100%). The conclusion of this study showed that dentigerous cyst due to impaction of mandibular third molars was the most common, with the same frequency in male and female, the most common age group was 41-50 years, and therapy that mostly choosen was enucleation.
