dc.description.abstract | Forensic identification is important in criminology and disasters. This research describes the palatal rugae patterns of Malaysian South Indians. A sample of 30 Malaysian South Indians, 18 to 25 years old, were chosen. The length, shape and direction were analysed from 30 dental stone models. The results showed all initial and subinitial rugae were primary rugae with prevalence of Anomaly. The complementary and subcomplementary rugae were both mostly primary rugae with mostly Curve. The rugae direction were predominantly Type IV. On the right side, most models had 4 or 6 rugae and on the left, they mostly had 5 rugae. | |
