Item Cross-Cultural Communication and Impact of Immigration on Afghan Culture: (A Case Study of Afghan Migrants in Germany)(2023-12-07) ABDUL QAYOUM SAFI; Edwin Rizal; Herlina AgustinImmigration has long been a key factor in the changing of cultures and the enrichment of societies with many customs, beliefs, and behaviors. This study examines the impact of migration on the culture of Afghan immigrants in Germany. The purpose of this research is to provide comprehensive information about the numerous challenges faced by Afghan immigrants in Germany, their resistance mechanisms, and the preservation of their cultural identity. Using qualitative methodology based on in-depth interviews with 25 Afghan refugees in different German cities, the author has determined the impact of migration on the culture of Afghan refugees in Germany. To identify significant findings and patterns related to the study`s objectives, a thematic analysis was performed using NVivo 12. The result of this study highlights the critical importance of cultural sensitivity, empathy, and tolerance in promoting intercultural understanding and aiding Afghan immigrants` integration into German culture. In conclusion, the Afghan community`s immigration to Germany has not only contributed to the enrichment and diversification of German society but has also engendered a fascinating fusion of cultures, offering both challenges and opportunities for cultural preservation, adaptation, and integration.
