DESCRIPTION OF SNA DISTANCE BASED ON AGE IN INDONESIA POPULATION USING CEPHALOMETRIC RADIOGRAPHY

Abstract

SNA is the landmark points that can be measured on cephalometric radiographs. The purpose of this study is to provide informations on the characters of the Indonesian population thus, able to identify the normal standardizations of the population by measurement of SNA distance using cephalometric radiography. The method of this research was a descriptive research with secondary data collected by purposive sampling technique from year of 2015 to 2016.. There were 53 cephalometric radiographs taken from Radiology Installation at RSGM UNPAD, males and females, measurements had been done using EzPax Plus software. SNA distance was measured from point of Sella (S) to Nasion (N) towards point A (SNA) in cephalometric radiograph based on age in Indonesia population. Based on the study, it can be concluded that the mean values, χ, mm of SNA distance based on age in Indonesia population was 113.9 mm for age group of 18-25 years old, 112.6 mm for age group of (26-35 years old) and 115.7 mm for age group of (36-40 years old). As conclusion, these results indicate that the highest mean value of SNA distance is 115.7 mm of the late adult age group which is 36-40 years old.
