perbedaanPERBEDAAN MECHANICAL PROPERTIES CAMPURAN NANOPARTIKEL SEMEN PORTLAND PUTIH INDONESIA-ZrO2-UDMA DENGAN DAN TANPA PENAMBAHAN NANOSILIKA SEBAGAI BAHAN PULP CAPPING

Abstract

Vital pulp therapy such as pulp capping can be an option in maintaining pulp vitality by preventing bacterial infiltration and stimulating tertiary dentin formation. Pulp capping materials must have good mechanical properties to withstand the masticatory forces on the tooth and the restoration material above, such as compressive strength, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity. Indonesian white Portland cement (SPPI) has the same composition with MTA material use as a pulp capping material. The purpose of this research is to make pulp capping materials with a mixture of SPPI-ZrO2-UDMA nanoparticles with and without the addition of nanosilica to analyze the compressive strength, flexural strength, and modulus of elasticity values. The preparation of SPPI-ZrO2-UDMA nanoparticle mixture samples with and without the addition of nanosilica begins through the process of synthesizing SPPI nanoparticles then mixed with ZrO2, mixed with UDMA and nanosilica. Compressive strength, flexural strength, and modulus of elasticity testing were carried out using Universal Testing Machine (UTM) in accordance with ISO 9971-1 and ISO 4049. Data analysis used ANOVA test and Post-hoc Independent t-test to determine the value of the difference between the two. The results showed that the highest mean compressive strength value of SPPI-ZrO2-UDMA nanoparticle with the addition of nanosilica was 115.52 MPa and SPPI-ZrO2-UDMA without nanosilica was 105.60 MPa. The highest mean flexural strength value of SPPI-ZrO2-UDMA nanoparticle with the addition of nanosilica is 61.39 MPa and SPPI-ZrO2-UDMA without nanosilica is 83.53 MPa. The highest mean value of modulus of elasticity of SPPI-ZrO2-UDMA nanoparticle with the addition of nanosilica is 7552.82 MPa and SPPI-ZrO2-UDMA without nanosilica is 7191.08 MPa. The results of statistical analysis showed significant differences in the two materials.
