ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini berjudul " Metode Penerjemahan Semantik Dalam Novel The Lord of The Rings "The Two Towers", objek penelitian ini diambil dari isi novel yang diterjemahkan menggunakan metode penerjemahan semantik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan ciri – ciri metode penerjemahan semantik dan apakah terjadi pergeseran makna pada penerjemahan tersebut. Penulis menggunakan beberapa teori untuk mendukung skripsi ini. Teori-teori yang digunakan dalam metode terjemahan semantik adalah dari Newmark, Hurford dan Heasley sedangkan teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis ciri-ciri semantik adalah teori Zuchridin Suryawinata dan Sugeng Hariyanto, sedangkan teori pergeseran makna Al Zoubi and Al-Hasnawi digunakan untuk menganalisis tentang pergeseran makna terjemahan.
Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, yang membandingkan data dari teks sumber dengan hasil terjemahan, mengklasifikasikan data tersebut sesuai dengan teori Al Zoubi and Al-Hasnawi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam Novel The Lord of The Rings "The Two Towers" pada bahasa sumber dan bahasa sasaran terdapat ciri–ciri metode penerjemahan semantik, yaitu menekankan pada estetika. Kalimat yang menggunakan metode penerjemahan semantik tersebut mengalami pergeseran makna dan tidak mengalami pergeseran makna.
ABSTRACT
This thesis is entitled “Metode Penerjemahan Semantik Dalam Novel The Lord of The Rings "The Two Towers†. The objects of this research are taking from the novel translated using semantics translation.The aims of this research are to describe the characteristic of semantic translation method and if there was a shift of meaning in the translation. Inside the data, the writer uses several theories to support this thesis. The theories used for translation method of semantic are from Newmark, and Hurford dan Heasley while the theory sed or characteristics of semantic translation are Zuchridin Suryawinata and Sugeng Hariyanto, while theory by Al Zoubi and Al-Hasnawi (2001, vol 5 no 4) analyze about the shift of meaning..The method of this thesis is descriptive qualitative, which is the method of collecting, describing, classifying and analyzing the data according to Al Zoubi and Al-Hasnawi theories. The result of this research shows The Lord of The Rings "The Two Towers" novel in the source language and the target language has characteristics of semantic translation, only in as far as it must take more account of the aesthetic. This semantic translation method has shift of translation or not.
