Abstract
ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini berjudul “Representasi Presiden SBY dalam Pemberitaan Kasus Korupsi Wisma Atlet Sea Games XXVI pada Surat Kabar Online The Jakarta Post: Kajian Analisis Wacana Kritis Model Van Dijk. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh kuasa surat kabar online The Jakarta Post terhadap representasi Presiden SBY berdasarkan analisis pola akses pada tataran makro dan bentuk representasi Presiden SBY yang dimunculkan dalam artikel berdasarkan analisis clause as representation dan syntactic-semantic parsing. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Untuk membongkar representasi serta kuasa, penulis menganalisis delapan artikel pada surat kabar online The Jakarta Post dengan menggunakan analisis wacana kritis model van Dijk. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kuasa yang dimiliki oleh The Jakarta Post pada tataran makro dalam merepresentasikan Presiden SBY ditunjukkan melalui pola akses planning, setting, controlling communicative events, dan scope and audience control. Berdasarkan analisis pola akses ini, surat kabar online The Jakarta Post memiliki akses untuk menentukan topik atau isi pemberitaan, waktu pemberitaan, serta mengutip pendapat tokoh-tokoh tertentu. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Presiden SBY direpresentasikan secara negatif dalam bentuk negative-other presentation, positif dalam bentuk positive-self presentation, dan ambivalence.
ABSTRACT
This research is entitled “Representasi Presiden SBY dalam Pemberitaan Kasus Korupsi Wisma Atlet Sea Games XXVI pada Surat Kabar Online The Jakarta Post: Kajian Analisis Wacana Kritis Model Van Dijk”. The aim of the research is to describe the influence of the power of The Jakarta Post online newspaper to representation of President SBY based on the patterns of access at macro level and type of representation of President SBY which is appeared in the articles through clause as representation, and syntactic-semantic parsing. The qualitative method is applied in this research. In order to reveal power and representation, the writer analyzed eight articles in The Jakarta Post online newspaper by using Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) of van Dijk’s model. The result shows that the power of The Jakarta Post online newspaper at macro level in representing President SBY is indicated by the patterns of access: planning, setting, controlling communicative events, and scope and audience control. Based on the patterns of access analysis, The Jakarta Post online newspaper has the access to decide the topic or content of the news report, the time of the news report, and quote the opinion of particular figures. The result shows that President SBY is represented negatively in negative-other presentation form, positively in positive-self presentation form, and ambivalently in ambivalence form.
