Abstract
Penelitian ini
dilatarbelakangi oleh keingintahuan dari penulis atas pengaruh sosialisasi
politik terhadap partisipasi politik dalam pemilihan walikota/wakil walikota
Depok yang diselengggarakan pada tahun 2010. Sosialisasi politik merupakan
sebuah upaya penanaman informasi tentang politik dan tangggapan oleh masyarakat
individu itu sendiri. Pengambilan objek pemilih didasarkan atas rendahnya
tingkat partisipasi dalam memberikan pilihan di hari pemungutan suara. Dengan
demikian sangat perlu untuk diketahui bagaimana pengaruh sosialisasi politik
terhadap partisipasi politik dalam pemilukada Kota Depok tahun 2010.
Dalam
melihat persoalan ini, penulis mempergunakan teori komunikasi politik dari Michael Rush, dan Phillip Althoff. Dalam melihat sosialisasi politik pun penulis
mempergunakan pandangan yang diberikan oleh keduanya. Sementara untuk
partisipasi politik tentunya penulis lebih memilih pandangan teoritis dari Gabriel Almond.
Metode
yang dipergunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif. Pupulasi adalah
keseluruhan dari masyarakat Kota Depok yang terdaftar dalam Daftar Pemilih
Tetap (DPT) pemilihan walikota/wakil walikota Depok tahun 2010. Tehnik
pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan secara proportionate random sampling dan pemilihan sampel kecamatan secara random.Adapun
penentuan jumlah sampel minimum dilakukan dengan mempergunakan rumus Slovin. Tehnik
pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan angket yang diukur dengan
mempergunakan skala likert. Pengujian validitas dan realibilitas dilakukan
untuk memperoleh data-data yang valid dan realibel. Data yang telah teruji
kemudian dirubah melalui MSI sehingga didapatkan data interval. Pengujian
pengaruh sosialisasi terhadap partisipasi dilakukan dengan mempergunakan
analisis jalur.
Hasil dari pengujian yang
menunjukkan apakah hipotesis diterima atau ditolak diperoleh dari perbandingan
thitung dan ttabel.. Karena
nilai thitung menunjukkan lebih besar dari nilai ttabel maka
dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat pengaruh sosialisasi politik yang signifikan
terhadap partisipasi politik dalam pemilukada Kota Depok tahun 2010.
This
research is conducted because of the author’s curiosity in the influence of
political socialization on the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Depok
in 2010. Political socialization is an effort to infuse information related to
political system to society and their reactions to the political phenomena. The
reason why voters are selected to become the research object is because of the
decreasing level of the society in
casting their vote in the election day. Therefore, it is needed to be known how
big is the influence of political socialization on the political participation
in the local election in Depok in 2010.
To
see this problem, the author uses the theory of political communication from
Michael Rush and Philip Althoff. The author also uses their perspectives in
viewing the political socialization. Meanwhile, the author prefers to use the
theoretical perspective from Gabriel Almond in viewing the political
socialization.
This
research uses quantitative method. Population is the whole inhabitants in Depok
who were registered in the Voters Registered List in election of the Mayor and
Deputy Mayor of Depok in 2010. The sampling technique is conducted with a proportionate random sampling and by selecting random sampling in every sub district in Depok. Furthermore, to determine the minimum amount
of the sample, the author uses the Slovin formula. The sampling technique is held by spreading
questionnaires which are measured by using the Likert Scale. The author also
arranges a test to obtain the validity and realibility of the data. The data
which have been tested, will be modified through MSI in order to attain the
interval data. A test of the influence of socialization to the participation is
conducted by using path analysis.
The
result of the test which is show whether the hypothesis is accepted or not, is
obtained from the comparison of tcountand
ttable. The
result shows the value of tcount is greater than the value of ttable. Conclusively,
it implies that there is a significant influence of the political socialization
on the political participation in the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of
Depok in 2010.
