Abstract
ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini berjudul “Prosedur Penerjemahan Kata Budaya pada Novel “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” karya C.S. Lewis. Objek penelitian pada skripsi ini adalah kata budaya yang terdapat pada novel “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” yang diterjemahkan menggunakan prosedur penerjemahan dalam novel terjemahannya. Metode penulisan skripsi ini adalah analisis deskriptif komparatif. Data-data yang dianalisis menggunakan teori Peter Newmark (1988). Tujuan penulisan skripsi ini adalah mengetahui analisis kata budaya apa saja yang terdapat pada novel “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” karya C.S. Lewis serta prosedur penerjemahan apa saja yang dipakai dalam menerjemahkan kata budaya dari novel C.S. Lewis.
Hasil penelitian berdasarkan identifikasi masalah pertama menunjukkan bahwa 20 data yang termasuk kata budaya dan terdapat tiga prosedur penerjemahan yang dipakai oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan kata budaya tersebut, yakni transference, descriptive equivalent, dan shifts/transpositions.
ABSTRACT
This thesis is entitled “Prosedur Penerjemahan Kata Budaya pada Novel The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” by C.S. Lewis. Object of this thesis is the cultural words in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe novel which are translated used translation procedure. The method of this thesis is descriptive comparative analysis. The data are analyzed by using cultural words and translation procedure theory byPeter Newmark (1988). The purpose of this thesis is to analyze cultural words and translation procedures that are used by the translator in the cultural words in the C.S. Lewis novel.
The result of this thesis, based on the first issue observed shows that there are 20 data of cultural words and there are three translation procedures that are used by the translator in the translated version, the procedures are transference, descriptive equivalent, shifts/transpositions.
