Item BLENDED LEARNING ADAPTATION OF MEDICAL PROFESSION STUDY PROGRAM DURING THE COVID-19 AT FACULTY OF MEDICINE, UNIVERSITAS PADJADJARAN IN 2021(2018) NAUFAN ALPHA HARIZ; Agung Dinasti Permana; Shinta Fitri BoesoirieBackground: The Indonesian government has shifted teaching and learning activities to online to prevent COVID-19 transmission. Still, clinical skills practice in hospitals is compulsory for medical students. They could not apply online learning 100%, so blended learning is applied. The blended learning system is a new thing in the Medical Profession Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran, and no research describes it yet. The purpose of this study was to find out a description of the adaptation of blended learning during the COVID-19 pandemic based on students’ perceptions. Methods: This study used a closed “yes/no” questionnaire. Twenty-one questions prepared following blended learning guides were distributed randomly (simple random sampling) to Medical Profession Study Program students’ (class of 2020 and 2021) at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Padjadjaran, from December 2021 to January 2022 (n=261). Students who do not participate in the blended learning system will be excluded from the study. Meanwhile, active students from the class of the 2020-2021 period who are willing to be respondents will be included. Results: The results showed that most students were aware of the adaption of blended learning (yes > 50%). The highest percentage of "yes" answers was the question about students` awareness of virtual face-to-face learning activities (Virtual Synchronous) (98.95%). Meanwhile, the lowest percentage of "yes" answers was the question about the students` perceptions regarding the application of a structured schedule (during working hours) (38.31%). Conclusions: Blended learning during the COVID-19 pandemic from the students’ point of view is already per the decree and guidebooks. The structured schedule experienced by the students was not fully implemented during working hours. Keywords: blended learning, COVID-19, learning adaptation, Medical Profession Study Program, student perceptionItem Characteristics of Hospitalized COVID-19 Patients at Dr. Hasan Sadikin Bandung General Hospital(2023-02-19) SHERIN ANASYA SYAHARANI; Shinta Fitri Boesoirie; Agung Dinasti PermanaBackground: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that have been declared as a global pandemic. Current knowledge regarding clinical characteristics and laboratory findings of hospitalized patients with COVID-19 infection is limited. This study aims to determine and evaluate the characteristics of hospitalized COVID-19 patients. Methods: This research was conducted using a retrospective descriptive study with a cross-sectional design and proportional random sampling method. The subjects used in this study were data on COVID-19 inpatients at General Hospital Bandung from January 2022 to June 2022. The variable data obtained is then processed using descriptive statistical methods. Variables included were patients’ sociodemographic and clinical characteristics. Results: Among 241 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, majority were female (59.8%), aged 30-49 years old (27%), is working (69.3%), and a non-smoker (61.5%). The average initial body temperature is 36.8℃. Most frequent symptom is cough (46%) with complications of pneumonia (37.9%). Most patient have comorbidities (55%), have not been vaccinated (47.4%), and have mild disease (32.9%). Average laboratory result showed a decrease in hemoglobin and leukocytes and an increase in urea, creatinine, SGOT, procalcitonin, quantitative CRP, LDH, and others within normal limits. Most common chest X-ray result is bilateral abnormality (48.4%). Most patients survive (86.3%). Conclusions: Hospitalized COVID-19 patients tend to presents with clinical symptoms and have comorbidities. Men, smoker, non-vaccinated, and person with comorbidities may have increased risk of mortality.
