Characteristics of Patients Liver Elastography of Chronic Hepatic B and C in Hasan Sadikin General Hospital 2020-2022

Abstract

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) are still considered to contribute to a serious problem in Indonesia. HBV infection is still high among young adults, so many of HBV patients are undiagnosed, and HCV infection is still high among the general population. Liver fibrosis is a main determinant to determine chronic liver disease. One of the ways to monitor and diagnose inflammatory changes of the liver in Hepatitis patients is liver elastography, with a tool named Fibroscan®. This tool has high reliability to assess liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in patients with Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and NAFLD. This is due to its noninvasive use and high diagnostic accuracy to perform liver elastography. The lack of Fibroscan® registries and research articles in Indonesia made this study the first one to confirm the characteristics of Chronic Hepatitis B and C patients in Hasan Sadikin General Hospital.
