ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini berjudul “Penggunaan Emoticon dalam Forumwww.Mädchen.de. Forum ini merupakan forum remaja putri Jerman. Masalahyang diteliti dalam skripsi ini yaitu untuk mengkaji bagaimana penggunaanemoticon pada forum oleh penggunanya serta menemukan petanda apa saja yang
terdapat pada emoticon yang digunakan. Metode yang digunakan untuk meneliti skripsi ini ialah deskriptif-analisisyaitu menjabarkan penggunaan emoticon dalam forum serta menganalisis petanda
apa saja yang ditemukan. Terdapat lima bentuk emoticon yang akan diteliti padapenulisan skripsi ini.
Dari penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa masing – masing bentukemoticon yang dianalisis pada skripsi ini mempunyai makna asli atau yang disebutdengan denotasi dan juga makna lain atau konotasi yang tersirat melalui konteksdalam penggunaan emoticon tersebut.
This thesis is entitled “The Use of Emoticon in Forum www.Mädchen.de†.This forum is a forum for teen girls in Germany. The problems which were analyzed in this thesis is to review how the use of emoticon in forum by users and to find any other signified markers which contained in the emoticons that were used.
The method that used to research this thesis is descriptive-analysis that outlines the use of emoticon and analyzes which markers were found in this forum. There are five form of emoticons that were analyzed in this thesis writing. By this research could be known that each form of emotions that were
analyzed in this thesis has own meaning or denotation and also other meaning or connotation that could be understood through the supporting context of the use from these emoticons.
